White Cane Day - the book
My friend, colleague and former O&M intern, Kristin Grender, has written a children's book about White Cane Day which is on October 15. It's a really cute book and a fun way to teach children about what President Obama called "Blind Americans Equality Day". The Singapore Straits Times reports that Tan Tock Seng Hospital used Fork in the Road Low Vision Simulators for a special event to help the public and those who care for people with low vision understand the impact of vision impairment. By using the simulators, participants learned that even simple tasks can be difficult.
